Qu’est-ce qu’un Point Mob?
Un Point Mob est un emplacement où se rencontrent différentes fonctions, principalement liées à la mobilité. Les Points Mob sont conçus pour promouvoir et rendre accessible le transport multimodal à petite échelle.
Il est adapté aux besoins d’un quartier et plusieurs points peuvent être disponibles dans la ville. Tout comme une gare ferroviaire est la principale plaque tournante de la mobilité d’une ville, un Point Mob est le centre névralgique d’un quartier.
Le Point Mob est une alternative conviviale à la possession de la voiture individuelle. Il s’inscrit donc dans un contexte davantage urbain où la non-possession d’un véhicule est réaliste.
Sa fonction principale concerne la mobilité, mais d’autres services peuvent également être offerts : des informations sur les activités du quartier, une machine à pain, un casier pour les dépôts de colis, etc.
Afin d’être efficace, une ville doit disposer d’un réseau de Points Mob idéalement situés : dans les quartiers, les zones d’activités ou à proximité des centres commerciaux. Les Points Mob répondent aussi à des exigences en terme de qualité des installations et d’accessibilité.

Fonctions et emplacements
Les services de mobilité retrouvés au sein d’un Point Mob sont déterminés en fonction de l’emplacement de celui-ci et du réseau de transport qui s’y trouve. Des fonctions de mobilité essentielles devant être retrouvées à chaque Point Mob ont été définies en fonction de leur niveau.
Une demande de transport suffisante (= potentiel) est la base d’un bon fonctionnement du Point Mob.
Un Point Mob possède des fonctions essentielles : la mise à disposition d’un service ou de places d’autopartage, et d’installations cyclistes. En fonction de l’emplacement et des besoins de la zone, des fonctions supplémentaires peuvent être proposées : transport public ou transport collectif, vélos partagés, bornes de recharge électrique, casiers, wifi, boîte aux lettres, etc.

Objectif
L’objectif du Point Mob, en tant que centre de mobilité, est de faciliter les déplacements multimodaux, mais également de donner le choix du mode de transport en fonction du type de trajet à réaliser.
Un Point Mob permet de vivre sans posséder de voiture, mais sans sacrifier la mobilité. Partager permet d’obtenir une meilleure mobilité en occupant moins d’espace.
Aujourd’hui, en Wallonie, il existe de nombreux endroits qui répondent presque ou entièrement aux conditions pour faire partie du réseau Point Mob. Cependant, ces points clés de la mobilité ne sont pas toujours faciles à identifier.
L’identification et l’intégration de ces endroits clés au sein du réseau de Points Mob permettra :
- aux usagers de repérer facilement les services et infrastructures mises à leur disposition ;
- aux autorités de pouvoir facilement identifier les différents maillons clés du réseau en vue de continuer à les développer de manière pertinente ;
- aux urbanistes d’aménager l’espace public en conséquence.
Le développement d’un réseau unique de Points Mob uniforme et reconnaissable au sein de toute la Wallonie est donc une condition préalable essentielle.
Mpact désire uniformiser l’ensemble du réseau de Points Mob (design, critères,…) dans un souci de clarté pour les utilisateurs, les visiteurs, les communes et les développeurs. C’est pourquoi nous avons défini le nom, le logo, les couleurs et les critères dès le lancement du concept. Ce choix doit garantir une maximalisation de l’impact du concept.
Le nom ‘Point Mob’ est protégé en tant que marque déposée. Ce faisant, les initiateurs veulent s’assurer de la qualité des Points Mob.

Inspiration
Le concept de Point Mob (“mobipunt”) fût lancé en Flandre en septembre 2017 par Mpact vzw et Autodelen.net. Les Points Mob ont été inspirés par les villes de Brême (Allemagne) et Bergen (Norvège) via le projet Share-North.
Les premiers « mobipunten » sont installés depuis juin 2018 à Deinze et Schoten, et une vingtaine d’autres communes travaillent actuellement au lancement de nouveaux Points Mob.
